The Good: I got the instrument cluster back in the car and all works well. The LED lighting is not as bright as I had hoped, but it's certainly an improvment. I'll take a picture and post it shortly.

The Bad: I think I out-smarted myself. (Which isn't very tough, really.) After I got the cluster plugged back in, and before I replacd the trim, steering wheel, etc., I re-connected the battery and started the car to check the functioning of the cluster. Apparently, this was a bad idea as now the airbag (and seat belt) lights are illuminated and won't go out. Note: Due to time constraints, the car sat for two days with the battery disconnected before I finished re-installing the steering wheel and airbag so there was plenty of time passed between checking the cluster and final installation.

I'm guessing I now have to figure out how to reset the codes. Oh well...

I think Clark's garage has a process for 944s to reset the Airbag light. not sure on Seatbelt light.

Are the bulbs plug and play? I have to take our my cluster and wouldn't mind putting in LEDs in the reflective housings (3 I think) - did you do all of the lights in your cluster with LEDs?

The bulbs I bought are plug and play, and I noted the part number in an earlier thread. I only replaced the three bulbs in the reflective housings with LED's. I have no problem with the other lights.

That said, the LED's are not as bright as I had hoped. The look is good, just not bright enough so I may do some more research (I thought I'd gotten it right!) to find brighter bulbs.

I may end up trying to put together a test rig from Clark's for the airbag light. I'm not great, electrically, but it looks pretty simple.

Has anyone shipped out a cluster to have it refurbished to as new condition?
