Default Where can I get metal wire clips to hold the reference sensor connectors together?

The black conectors for the speed refernce sensors at the back of the intake maifold are missing the wire clip that holds one of the connectors together. Sometimes I get the no start unless I open the hood and push the connectors rogether tight and the other day the car stalled in bumper to bumper traffic because of the connectors. Where can i get these?

Personally, I used a cable tie.

Works for me

Thanks Fara. Good idea. I must be getting old and I think I thought about that before but forgot because I had some other issues pop up.

Been there done that. The clips are the only things that work. I got one from a shop locally who pulled it off a wreck. I finally did find the one that got away when I did the big garage cleanup. Those things either fly into low earth orbit when they come off or want to embed into your eyeball.

If you can't find one let me know and I send you the spare in the mail.

If you can't find any, get some thin metal wire and you can use that. Basically just use it as a twist tie around the connectors, but you can thread it into the spaces where the original clip was.

Just to widen the search field, those connectors were used on other cars of that period, like BMWs.

If you are asking for the square spring wire clip that locks Bosch two-pin connectors together, it's p/n 022-971-999. Presumably can be ordered from Porsche or VW/Audi, and in the aftermarket.

If the VW dealer doesn't stock them Bus-Boys.com sells them for $1.25 each
