Default hi all..85.5 944 na no start help..ha

Okay down to it.

Car was parked, wouldn't start the next morning.
ref sensor replaced a week earlier, fuel pump and filter in April.
rotor and cap and wires and plugs in March. along with the afm and dme.
I have tach bounce, good spark from coil and all wires, and even today another new set of coppers. dme relay was discovered to be faulty, not delivering power to fuel pump. using 3 wire jumper setup, I get dme and fuel pump power. new relays are on their way..got an extra finally. here's the thing though..it won't even fire on ether. and it still doesn't start with the jumper in place. I have not yet attempted a fuel pressure check as I don't have a gauge and are wary of just popping the nut. I do have a spare fuel pump also. the pump clicks like its turning on if you hold it or sit underneath to hear it, but doesn't sound like its running really. also, my fpr leaks very very very slightly, like you get a drop if you take the tube off the vacuum side and touch the hole.. why wouldn't it try to start on ether? Timing is off? I have not been able to check.. car is in the driveway I have no garage and its been really rainy and crappy out... am I justified and thinking the timing could be off? Forgot to mention the new Waterbury, timing belt and associated accessories that I did in August. just looking for some ideas or advice here..ha

Make sure the firing order is correct on the plugs. Also look at the rotor under the distributor cap to make sure the set screw hasn't backed out. If the rotor has spun, it will not start. Make sure the wires to the DME have a good connection.

Air fuel spark.... That is the secret. If it won't fire on ether, must be air or spark. That makes me think the most likely culprit is the rotor.

Good luck.

Michael

Spark order is correct. I assumed the cap and rotor were okay because I got good spark out of each spark plug wire from the coil but ill check it out..

Yep, as stated I tested the main lead from the coil as well as every plug wire with a spark tester. all tested okay. even pulled each plug and grounded them on the body and checked one at a tune..each sparking okay. I'm stuck between wether this is a spark timing issue or a timing issue in general..

However I have checked compression and its good. so I would imagine timing is on. not to mention it turns over okay. but I plan on lining them up and making sure soon..

Going to try jumping the alarm brain today.
anyone got any other ideas? Also, behind the dash on the key cylinder, if your looking at the back of the thing where the ignition wires plug in, just to the right, is a two prong rectangular two wire connector. a red and a green. I may have these backwards. the plug goes in either way. one wire is hot. what is this connector?
