Default 88' or 89' short block

I have an 88' 944 Turbo S with a cracked cylinder. Does anyone have , or know of an 88' or 89' Turbo or N/A short block for sale ( w/low mileage preferred)? I am in dire need of finding one and will pay accordingly!! Please RSVP ASAP! Thanks

I have an 87 924S longish block, i took the water pump for my new car, it has a lot miles but the compression was good. Still you would want to have it re nikasil'd i imagine. It's still in the car but if you really need a motor this could work for you?

Is the 951S motor based on the 2.7/3.0L block? I thought all of the late 2.5L blocks were the same.

late n/a blocks are same as late 944 turbo blocks. they just have the turbo oil feed and return capped off. I just got a new block as my new project had a cracked #4 cylinder. which cylinder cracked on yours?

You can use any 83-88 NA block or 86-89 turbo block (basically any 2.5L block) to rebuild your engine (make sure you get a block with the same tolerance group number as your current block, so the pistons will fit right).

Or, if you wanted a complete shortblock, it would have to be from a turbo because of the turbo pistons, but again anything from 86-89 would work for you.

You can't use a complete NA shortblock (unless you do some tuning) because with the NA pistons the compression ratio is higher.

I have a long block or complete engine with turbo, etc. from a 1988 Turbo S. The block was replaced with a factory block due to freeze damage before I bought the car. The car was rearended while I was test driving it and I ended up buying the damaged car for parts. It was a good runner and a low mileage motor. I have receipts.

I do not want to part it out, it'd be a waste to unbolt the head and whatnot, but if you are interested in a Turbo S long block we can work something out. At present it's all together and still on the crossmember. I am near Boulder and Lafayette.
