944 Going Home
After 11 year of proud ownership, my prized Copenhagen Blue 85.5 944 is going home. The car was owned since new by my best friend. I always told him that if he ever wanted to sell it, I wanted first refusal. Well, that day came in July of 2001 when my friend moved and could not take the car.
It has been lovingly taken care of since then, and finally it is I who must give it up. As a good friend should, I gave him the right of first refusal, and as expected, he wants it back!
So, on October 21, I will make my final journey in my 944 and make the almost 500 mile drive and deliver it to him. Who knows, maybe someday I will get it back again. Sort of fitting that good friends should "share" such a great car.
I have enjoyed my many years on this site. I have learned a lot and wish all of you good luck and sweet drives.

Thanks for your kind words, CVDH. I took pictures today, but I have been having trouble uploading them (too large is the message I get). If I can figure it out I will post them.

that's a great story. you'll have to pull over during the trip to get some final shots...and maybe one final drive before giving him the keys.
hopefully you'll get first dibs if he wants to ever sell again. if not, for some reason, i don't think you'll go w/o another 944 for more than a couple years

Great story, indeed. It's good to see that these cars are getting more and more owned by 944 enthusiasts.

Thanks
I want to thank everyone for their kind words. I have tried to attache some photos to this. If it works, it will attach more. I will indeed be looking for another 944 as soon as I am able. Maybe a 951 this time. Good ones are out there, but sometimes hard to find.

Some more photos
Some more photos. I will try to take some on the drive up. I will be up at my friend for a couple of days and we will be doing some drives before I fly home. Updates later!
