Parking brake **** tried to kill me!
So...I pulled into a parking space the other day, stopped the car completely, pulled the parking brake, and the ****, powered by the spring, shot out of the end of it and bounced around the car!
I'm pretty sure something broke, what do I do? I've never touched the parking brake on this car, although I've been meaning to adjust it because it was a little loose. Anybody ever had a parking brake **** try to kill them before?

The button threads into the handbrake lever, most likely it just came unscrewed. I had the best luck getting it to thread with the handbrake in the lowered (off) position.
Glad to hear you escaped with your life

so...push the spring back in and push the button on, threading it into the lever?
I tried that a couple of times, but couldn't get it to thread, seemed like the button would push WAY to far into the lever, I'll go give it another shot though, maybe trying it in the down position will work

Didn't work!!!
I think something actually broke inside of the handle. It won't really thread in, the piece that it's supposed to thread into moves, so i can put the spring in around it, and try to thread the **** in, but i can push the know almost all the way into the handle, which makes getting the **** to bite onto the threads very difficult...any ideas?
