in some cases, ppi's are a bit over-rated, imo.....
congratulations on your purchase.... for a bit of extra fun, get on I-85 in Richmond and take it to I-40....
then head through Asheville, NC area.... and cross the mountains there. it's a totally spectacular drive.
another good route is to hop on I-66 near DC and take it to Strassburg and I-81 for the best route home.
to be fair, there is no such thing as a poor man's Porsche.
how we wish it were so.
i did this same thing because i built such a positive rapport with the seller (very kind 82 year old man).... it was during the Bear Stearns fiasco, and the economy was obviously going into recession, and he was receiving very few calls.... he explained the work that had been done, and i explained what was due, and some of the likely issues that might come up.... then we settled on a price.... upon my arrival, i inspected the service history, and we jacked up the car and i and crawled under... got her running, did a visual inspection of the engine bay, then, i took her for a drive. it was obvious, the car was solid... and the price was totally fair (in my favor) done.
