Default First 944!

Hi everyone! Name is Steven just bought my first Porsche 944 today. This is my third car, owned a 94 Camry and a 03 Eclipse before this. This car is in great condition only a couple guage problems but the interior and exterior is spotless! Crossing my fingers that it won't bite me in the butt because I intend to use it as my daily driver.

Got to love the factory alarm.

If you're not intending on using that factory alarm, I'd suggest you make sure it has been jumpered correctly as they tend to cause problems due to age and water getting at them.

its an 85.5 no alarm but it has the keyhole for it so ill have to look into that. right now i have a couple of problems... rpm gauge takes awhile to work.. so for about the first 2-5 min of my driving its dead but it will randomly work later on. fuel gauge doesnt work above half full.... and thats about it. i got an awesome price for an awesome maintained car.

Fuel guage is common issue, mine shows half when it's full, I just keep track of miles driven to know when to refuel.

Congrats on the buy , mind sharing how much you paid for her?

And where are you located? Looks southwestern.. Lol

Nice 944 Steven. How many miles? I drove my first Porsche ('83 944) for three years as a DD.

paid 4500. sold my 03 eclipse for 3500 and added 1000 for it. going back to grad school.. so without a full time job i hope maintaining this beast will be manageable.

These cars are a breeze just do the work yourself, keep an eye on waterpump, timing belt and balance belt (do belts every 3 yrs or 30-40k) other than that usual wear likes bushings and junk. Congrats!
