Default 19" cayenne wheels for '94 968?

posted in the 968 forum but no ones giving feedback yet and i have to move quick on these:

hi guys,
I have a line on a set of 19" cayenne wheels
Fitment:5x130
Offset:50-55P
Tyres: 255/50/19 4x Bridgestones 2 are 2-3mm and 2 not wofable (are below minimum legal tread)

Porsche wheels don't come up very often down here and these are priced very well. Will they fit with those tyres? Are they heavy for a 19" wheel? will they look good on a 968 (Personal pref, I know. Photos appreciated)?

i'm going to use them as rollers until i get my 968-into-944 swap done and then i'll replace the tyres.

I don't see how those tires will fit. The wheels probably also weigh a ton as they're designed for something that weighs almost twice as much as a 968.

yeah the tires are massive. but if they fit... yes I'm concerned about teh weight also. wheel enhancement shows they are a cast wheel, 9" but I can't find a weight anywhere.

the price is almost worth picking them up anyway to flick them on again.

Im not worried about the tires re: actual use. the wheels are going to be rollers for a 968 6spd parts car until a 944 conversion is done and then new properly profiled tires will be bought to make it roadworthy. if the wheels and tires can fit on a 968, as is, I'd be interested in getting them as they're cheap. But i wouldn't want to buy new 19" rubber until much later.

my 968 is on early offset 16" phonedials which i won't be able to use after the conversion is done so need to replace them with late offset wheels anyway.

No way those tires would fit. The width is ok, you can put 255s on the front (depending on offset) but the overall diameter is the problem.

I've never weighed a cayenne wheel, but being that they're from a truck, I just assume they're heavy. They're made for a big heavy vehicle, potentially for use off-road.

Looks is totally personal preference. I myself think they wouldn't look good. Aside from that, you will have the Porsche people recognizing that you have cayenne (read: truck) wheels on your sports car. But even just as rollers, the problem is the tires. Good luck!

Without any math or measuring I would say that there is no way you would be able to roll a 968 around on these wheels with the tires in question. But if you wanted to you could measure the clearence on your car to find out. You would need around 2 inches of clearence beyond the edge of each stock size wheel & tire combo (in a radial direction).

Sure the 968 in the picture below is lowered, but even at stock hight I think you would run into clearance problems front and rear.
