Default cowl drain picture

So, since I could not find one, thought I would add to the knowledge.

This is a pic of the drain for the cowl on the battery side. The battery was removed to get this pic.

It is in the same location on the driver(fuse) side, just a bit harder to see as you can't remove the fuse box to get to it.

It took me a long time to find the drain as it is just an indentation in the bodywork. I was thinking it was a rubber grommet or something, but it is not. And with just the slightest bit of dirt around it, it is hard to see.

So, there it is.

Go clean yours tonight. A bent coat hook does a treat. As does a grubby little finger.

Thanks!

I saw the original post yesterday and went looking for the drain last night. I think I was in the right place, but the grubby finger method didn't seem to work - so coat hanger it will be!

When my battery box had rusted through a couple of places, I sanded it to the metal, 2 layers of glass (straw around the hold down bolt ) and cut the wet glass where this drain is. After it all cured, I got a jar of liquid electrical tape from Home Depot and used my finger to apply some inside the drain so no water would wick back up under any spaces under the glass. I sprayed the whole battery box with liquid trunk bed liner and now I've got a solid battery box and the battery drain hose goes under the battery straight into the drain hole and down inside about a foot.
