Has anyone finished their bellhousing ?
Putting all the bits back in place after replacing the RMS. Heat shields and starter got cleaned up and were primed and painted but not sure about the bellhousing. The guy that glass blasted it recommended clear coating it to make it easier to clean.
Has anyone used clear coat on aluminum before? Have you finished your bellhouosing with anying at all ? It has a very rough surface to the touch and there is no way I'm spending any time polishing this thing. Just want something to make it easier to wipe off any oil, ps fluid, etc.

I cleaned and clear coated mine prior to assembly. Wire wheel on an angle grinder and then a sanding disc in a drill and a dremel for the tight spots and finished with Glisten. Thats a two part clear coat from the same folks that make POR.

I clearcoated my intake manifold a few years ago. It is definitely very easy to clean, and the manifold is a much bumpier and porous surface than the bellhousing. Use ceramic-based high-temp clear coat like you'd use for engine paint. Over time with heat exposure it changes color slightly to a nice slightly gold hue.

Looks like a great product but I don't have access to any HVLP or other spray equipment. I'm limited to what I can brush on or what comes out of an aerosol can. I'll head down to the local speed shops and see what they have.
What's going on with the 968 project, V8 conversion ?
