Hey guys got a quick question, I'm looking to install aftermarket seats in my 86 951 and I know the belts are attached to side of the seat rails. I was wondering is it possible to move the belts to the early style location (connects to the center console area)? If so what would be needed, needs to be strong so if I ever get hit. Thanks for your time!

On track cars, we connect to the center tunnel. If your car is stripped, you'll see where you can drill through 2 layers of sheet metal - not just one. And still use a backing plate or very large fender washer on the back side.

Im putting in some aftermarket torino sytle seats, black PVC, I was going to redo my seats but they need way more than just a fabric so I decided to settle for some reasonably priced seats until I can get porsche ones in. I would just buy an old used set but I want the new feel and seats in great condition are out of my price range.

Curt, thanks for the heads-up on the Wedge pieces. I was going to mention that Brey-Krause makes a bolt-on seat belt anchor point for the tunnel side, but it's kind of frustrating to install, and costs nearly as much as the entire bracket from Wedge.
Conrad, just a note: I'm not sure how set you are on using harnesses, but every organization that I know of that will let your car on track requires a hole in the seat base for the anti-sub belt or belts that go between your legs if you're using a harness. If you're hoping to use a harness at some point, make sure that the seats you choose have that anti-sub hole. You can always work the rest of the mounting out later.

I haven't really done much other than drive her. Headliner is out, I've installed rivnuts where all the headliner trim attaches and I have a roll of Alcantara. What I haven't decided is if I'm going to cover the header panels with Alcantara or leather. I just need a good weather day where I can pop out the rear side windows to do the work.
I have a set of old-school Recaro SE "Turbo" seats. I'm not wild about the turbo embroidery on them, but they're in really good shape and I'm not sure who can recover them.
