Default Quieting exhaust boom?

Cruising at 3000RPM in any gear causes a loud booming noise to come from the exhaust. Any higher or lower and the sound becomes more manageable. I have a stock exhaust system with an aftermarket cat and no resonator.

I have all new rubber exhaust donuts to install soon but am wondering, if I were to get some of that heat reflective foam padding insulation stuff and strap it to the top of the muffler heat shield, would that help quiet things down a bit? I am also looking into some dynamat for the trunk floor, spare wheel well and the rear cubbies to minimize resonance.

Thoughts?

I have done the Dynamat and it helps a bit. The best solution so far is installing a Dynamax VT muffler.
