I feel like I am in on a fantastic little secret, that only other 944 owners know, and that we are the very lucky few, who get to enjoy one of the greatest cars ever made. The fact most ppl have no idea just how good they are means the *joining fee* of this exclusive club is a lot lower than it would be if word ever got out, even though staying in the club is just as expensive as owning any Porsche, it's a club I always want to be a member of, and a price I am happy to pay. Welcome into our little club Jeff, and I hope you continue to enjoy it as much as I know I do

Yeah driving a 911 requires a lot more talent

Also if we're modding the 944t agaisnt a stock N/A 911 that doesn't exactly sound like a fair fight power wise whats the going displacement add for a turbo 1.6X's?

and Butters a 17 yr old driving a 944 is like trailer trash moving into your neighborhood, you bring down the collective value of all other 944's around you

Haha in all fun 951's are great fun to drive, and I think the fact that their design has held up all these years is a great testament to its styling (Not unlike the 911's!)

wow !! got to be one of the boldest, straight-to-the-point arguments for owning a Turbo vs some other used sports car that i've ever heard. and as much as i rag on the 944Ts as being hell to maintain, this is actually, usually only true for the cars being tuned past 300 hp.

my only complaint is you forgot to mention how fast they are !

awesome post !!

Good story, and agree with what you're saying.

I've been able to drive a handful of cars, and while many of them were amazing, there are few that FEEL more solid/planted/enjoyable to drive than my 968. I've had time in the 987 Boxster S - and while it does handle GREAT, it just doesn't have the same driving feel that the 944 series has.

Awesome write up. Let me know next time you head into the valley!! Surprisingly I've never seen a 944 turbo in person before, it'd be cool to meet up!
Sounds good!

When I was 17 there is NO WAY I should have had one of theses things. I did '60s musclecars back then. Not sure if that was any better, but certainly cheaper!!
