Default Project Deacon - 924S to 924 GTS Tribute

At long last I have taken the first steps down the path of creating my 924 GTS tribute car. I don't know how long it will take before I can call the project done, but at least some progress has been made. I am going to use this thread to keep track of the build and all of the changes that happen to the 924S along the way.

For the basis of this project I am using a 924S SE that was one of those random craigslist finds. And while I know cutting up a car that is just 1 of 500 seems like a bad idea to some, but with its manual mirrors and windows, with the added bonus of being a non sunroof chasis it was the perfect starting point for the goals that I have for this build.

What are those goals? Right now they are very simple, I want a car that is capable on the street and track with the look of the original 924 GTS both inside and out.

So the idea is to go from this:

to something like this (well this is a 924 Carrera GT, not a GTS, but you get the idea):

Step 1 will be to get the car set up with the 924 GTS flairs front and rear. Front took place over the weekend, the rear is going to be a bit more involved.

The 924 Carrera GT is one of my favorite cars so I'm glad that you are doing this project. I'm also posting so that I can be sure to follow the progress.

Subscribed for updates and a quick question. Will you be fitting the 924 early offset control arms so you can get the wider GTS Fuchs in there?

Great project. Please do it right to the last detail ; three things people always leave out are the 928 side markers ,the front bumper pads and the rear large bumper. Nice to see you already have the manual mirrors and fuchs .Go to 924.org and look for the australian kit ,one of the best out there http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=23121 . For the front bumper if you want GTS i would go with gt racing ,may take some effort to fit but it's the only one that looks like the real thing .

no need to swap any suspension pieces, 924s has essentially early 944 suspension (23mm offset)

I see, nice. So the 924S had early arms with late offset wheels then. Still curious what size Fuchs will you be fitting under the wide-body. I have a thing about wide polished lipped Fuchs
