Thanks for the tip on the 928 side marker, I do think that is a detail worth including. As for the OZ body kit, I think I will be getting something out of the states, the shipping on something that size overseas would be far too costly.

The AIR GTS bumper was the one I was thinking of going with, do you have any good pictures of yours? How much work was required to fit it properly?

The fuchs are from a 951, so they are the standard 7s and 8s (23.3 offset). So they are not quite the correct wheels for the car, but they will allow me to run 951 brakes if I so desire.

Engine plans are up in the air, but most likely I will use a 3L out of a 968, or perhaps a mildly tweeked 951 motor.

I suggest you contact the seller of the OZ kit , if i remember correctly the price of the whole kit including shipping to us is much lower than any kit you could get in the US . You also need only the rear arches ,rear bumper and hood scoop from them so not really too hard to ship (notice they are the only ones that have the correct large rear bumper for sale)

The AIR front bumper is a better fit but the lower grill is all wrong and it also looks too flat , the gt racing bumper is a perfect replica of the original but is a bit more involving to fit , http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...nose-pics.html

924 GTS is still my favorite looking car in the line. Love the fender flares. The 968 motor is a great choice, reliable if run in mildly modded form and the revs are kept below 6500 rpms. Sure do miss my old car

Just noticed that the GTS doesn't have the side markers only the GT does ,also other important gts details are the bigger rear wing ,the gts rear badge ,front crest on the hood instead of the header panel and the flush windshield.

as catamax says, the AIR one has the reinforced lower part. not true to the GTS look but a bit of reassurance for a light fibreglass copy. Its not perfect but I'm happy. My research on the forums showed as catamax said, that the GT racing one need more work to fit.

Not correct only because of the offset ,they ran 930 3.3 turbo Fuchs and brakes but the size is right ,they had 7&8's with 205/225 tires . The 951 Fuchs and brakes are as close as you can get to original without spending a fortune .

I would be happy to finish it this weekend, but please send me 25k in funding to my paypal account to cover a crew of workers to pull of an "overhaulin" style makeover.

In reality, I would bet this project takes a good bit more than a year, in the next month or so I hope to have the rear flares done, so I can put it on the ground for a bit.

The garage fridge is the most used tool out there. It was a nice perk when we moved into this house, came with the extra fridge for free. When I get the time, always difficult with multiple car projects, and a new born in the house, I want to put a TV in the garage and make into a bit of man cave.

Thanks for the pictures, that does help illustrate the differences in the noses. With a tribute car it does not have to be 100% authentic, but I do want it to be as close as possible. With the nose AIR might win out, because this will be a street car so fit and finish are important.
