Default Shop with R-12 in Northern NJ

Does anyone know of a shop in Northern NJ that still has R-12 A/C Refrigerant?

I was hoping to just recharge my system and not have to convert it since I have herd from many that 134a is not as efficient of a refrigerant (not as cold).

Thanks.

Not sure but I think you aren't allowed to buy it anymore... Only people I've seen selling are on craigslist selling old cans from a collection

I don't like the idea of compressed propane running through an ac system...

Because of its flammability, it is illegal to replace R-12 with HC-12a in the United States. It is not illegal to purchase HC-12a, or to use it in refrigeration systems that were not originally charged with R-12, except for in certain states that prohibit the use of flammable refrigerants in automobiles.

Sorry getting OT.. Anybody know if you can still buy r12?

I am running enviro-safe hc12 in my car. Works fine, it is no more dangerous than having R12 in the system. With any refrigerant you have oil suspended in it and if there is a leak you have a flammable oil mist. Alse with the HC12 it is pine scented so you can smell the leak. I still have a decent stock of R12 but decided to use the HC12 instead because it is so much cheaper.

there is r12 on craigslist. about $25 to $30 in this area

And quoting from wiki....don't know about that.

it is not illegal to charge with es12a. Where those things come from is beyond me.

Default R12

I have 30lbs of R12 that I have no use for anymore since my family no longer has older vehicles that require it. I'd be willing to sell it if anyone is interested and can include a nice set of gauges as well.
