Yes, I still have the original fuel lines and I'm carrying a fire extinguisher. No signs of leakage, but I'm already eyeing them for replacement in the next couple weeks (probably Lart's, though I have a pending cart at Pelican today). While I'm at it, what else do I need to replace? The fuel pump and the rail are solid far as I can tell, but everything else is starting to look pretty run down. It all works great now and I'm on a budget this summer, so I'm hesitant to touch anything more than I really need to. I'm not replacing it all just yet. Maybe next year, including injectors. WWRLD?

At least the front fuel line, it's the one that fails first. If you think everything is original I would also send the injectors to Witchhunter for cleaning and change the fuel filter & check valve.

I did not know Larts sold fuel hoses.
You should check the fuel rail jumper:

Rennbay has late 944 fuel line kits--I bought 2 for my early 924Ss
My DIY for the early 944, Lindsay Racing has a very good DIY for the late series.

Or you could just wait ......

Looks like a decent buy, but it looks to me like they could stand to be a couple inches longer to reduce the bends right at the upper connections? Personally I was about convinced to get the Rennbay kit that you can spec the HP hose any length, so you can run all the way back to the firewall, then around the tower and out the inner fender.

There is someone on the pelican parts forum who rebuilds the jumper line for a reasonable price. I would look into that if you are on a budget. I thought mine was fine, but then when I got my replaced mine was show dried out it actualy broke when I tried to bend the hose.

Scary thread for sure on the car-b-que. Guy totally lucked out with only ~$1200 in parts he was able to do himself. But the culprit in that case was the fuel damper, so that's exactly why I'm looking at everything - proactively - as this car is driven often and more than a few times a week. I often drive the 951 for a week or two, then switch to the Audi for a week or two. The on-two/off-two schedule is pretty good as typically one of them needs something and waits on parts!

My tentative list are all the engine bay lines, FPR, damper, filter, and the check valve. Thinking about having WitchHunter clean the injectors as well.
I can't see how the rail would go bad. It'll be obvious when the pump goes- will burn that bridge when I get to it. Hopefully not literally! Continuing to carry my FE after this regardless...

If you're going to pull the pump to replace the check valve, consider adding an in-line filter AHEAD of the pump, or at the least replacing the sock inside the tank. Personally I have found the sock to be ineffective and pricey. I used a metal can filter from Summit Racing with 1/2" connections ahead of the pump in a loop of line. Not pretty, but it stops particles that the sock didn't (which cost me a new pump, 2 weeks after installing a new one). http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MRG-2526/

Ok, haven't found one yet. May have to just go with an OE replacement. Paragon has them at $82, cheapest I've found so far. I'm going to contact a local dealer with the VIN to check on the recall status on this piece tomorrow- nice bonus if this is free.
Also going to check out the fuel filter and related lines tomorrow evening I hope before I place the orders.
