I was thinking of maybe trying out a 928 exhaust header on the 944.
They are 4 in 1 short style headers .How do you think it will affect the power band ? Here's a pic to get the idea (wrong side)

Those manifolds are the first thing 928 owners remove when trying to make more power.
In 1985 these were introduced to replaced the cast manifolds. 1985/86 models have a two bolt flange like the cast units:

Would the headers off of a gts or S4 fit the 3.0L S2 block? Those late style 928 units look way sexier than the rusty pos I have now. It Looks like it could work, there just needs to be an immediate bend at the collecting flange. Horse power numbers could be tested on a dyno.
