Default Surging Idle when warm, code 1112

I've been dealing with what I understand is a common problem on these cars. I have a 1991 944 S2 that runs great with the exception of a surging idle when warm. I have already taken off and cleaned the Idle Control Valve (thing under the manifold) which seemed to help but the problem came right back. The car is now giving me a check engine light. The fault code is 1112 which after searching I seems to mean idle switch which I'm assuming is TPS. I plan on testing the TPS resistance but I'm not sure how useful it will be given the nature of my problem. Anyone have experience with this or the 1112 trouble code? Want to get some info before I shell out for a new TPS.

When I googled your model and the code, it came up with this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...startup-2.html

Hopefully this will shed some light.

If you read that thread you'll find a completely different problem and a completely different code.
