how to remove coil cover on 951?
How do you get the coil cover off?!
Do you have to remove the headlight motor, or is it ok to loosen it and move it out of the way? Can you just pull the coil cover open and get it off once the motor is moved/removed?
It's driving me crazy.

Prepare to send me a beer for this one.
DO NOT, repeat DO NOT remove the motor! LOL!
After trying to mess with I gave up. Then, one day I noticed a little clip part. Undo that with a screwdriver by pushing it an pop goes the sleeve.
Now, take that same screwdriver and loosen the power steering pump rez. Hold it off to the side.
Now you can easily remove the stupid, effing, worst place for a coil ever cap, and be done with it.
Do your work, clean things up, replace cap, and make sure you replace the power steering rez back in the same place with the clip.
Viola. more spark!

Coil cover on mine is stuck. I spent an hour or so to get it off but couldn’t. It wiggles but doesn’t come off. Very little room to grip it properly. I can’t even get it to a point where I have to move the PS reservoir
any tricks?

If you loosen the PS reservoir hose clamp (steel band), you can shift the reservoir for more access. Second, remove the headlight motor cover (rubber boot) and when you reinstall this part use a little dielectric grease as a lubricant. After this, you should have access to a clamp that holds the coil in place. Loosen it, pull the coil upwards and you should have clear access to the cover. Go to Clark’s garage and you’ll probably find many more tips and directions on how to do this (look under replacing ignition coil). Good luck.

Leftarmer, I used those steps to replace my coil. I actually removed the cover after having unplugged the coil to distributor cap and pulling the coil for replacement (after disconnecting both power and ground to the coil). Don’t know whether you’d have to go this far but it was literally a 30 minute exercise at most. Don’t stress, this one is easy.
