Default Interesting early sport seat find...

Picked up a set of sport seats for cheap while on a trip to get a different part... They're dark brown vinyl with some weird colored script cloth. I can't find a set like it anywhere on the internet...

Is the script cloth in its current condition worth $$$? Anybody seen seats just like these? What kind of money could I expect if I decided to sell as is?

A friend had seats like those in his '85. Now I can say I've seen two sets. Not sure what value is though.

script cloth is very desirable - looks cool, and in warm places like where you or i live the cloth "breathes" where leather doesnt...comfier to drive with...

how much would you want if you were to sell those seats?

Auto Atlanta sells replacement script seat covers. Idk if they do sport seats. I much prefer the script cloth (or any cloth like it).

I'm not sure what I would want if I sold them... Currently I plan on reupholstering them for my car, but if they're worth a lot of money I might sell.

The script fabric on them is well past it, very sun faded and dirty, they definitely need recovering.

You would need to drill holes in the body for the seatbelt receivers.

Not exactly. If you just keep the receiver bolted onto the seat you'll be fine. Its probably safer to drill holes but, eh.

I would have thought the seat frame changed to accomodate the new style receiver.

Eh from my experience its not an issue. My 924S had holes pre dilled but I just left them attached to the seats.

You had late seats in a early body , these are early seats and the question was if they can be installed in a late car.

Leave the seat belt receivers bolted to the EARLY seats. Then simply bolt the seats down to a late car. No so an issue. All Porsche seats from that era are interchangeable. With maybe the exception of one but I haven't seen it.

Looks like I'll be tossing the script for some red or grey plaid on black vinyl
