Default Thicker Headgasket

My pistons stick out a bit from the block face so I need to go with a thicker gasket. The sites I've seen have a 1.4mm gasket listed for the 1989 944 and the S2/968. However it says it "may" fit the later cars as well, so can someone clarify please?

It's an 87 n/a block with turbo internals

Also I was getting 0psi in one cylinder and my #2 intake valve is just tapped up a smidge, obviously the cause. This head had a fairly recent rebuild, can I just switch out the valves myself or am I going to be forced into taking it to a shop?

I think the real question is: why is your deck height off?

Those must be some special "pop-up" pistons, or someone got happy on the mill.

The motor had a broken belt a long time ago, I figure the PO must've had it milled for whatever reason.
We didn't have a chance to measure how far out they stuck up but it was a solid .5mm or so

So any answers?

That sounds like it'd leak more than the cometic. I searched around and noticed some people have luck with copper spray on them, this last one leaked coolant on one side and oil on the other externally.
