The car I pulled them from was an 84, brownish red (either really faded or primer) exterior, brown/script interior...

Eh the script in good condition is nearly impossible to come by, but if they aren't mint I don't see much interest - seen as just sport seats. Justs press your thumb on the leather/vinyl for a couple of seconds and see how quickly it bounces back. If it bounces back quickly it's vinyl. Leather also soaks up water, etc..

It's vinyl. The script cloth is perfect on one seat, other has a cigarette hole and small tear.

So it won't be forbidden for me to reupholster them with black vinyl and plaid cloth..? Haha

I just picked-up a 944 Auto for my son and it has worn sports seats as well. Does someone make nice covers that can be professionally installed?

Why not replace them with something more comfortable? I put some Prelude seats in mine, way better!

I had prelude seats in a couple of jeeps. The Porsche sport seats are WAY WAY more comfortable IMO

....and a Porsche should only have proper race seats or factory seats, not seats from some generic mass produced car.

Oh gawd if only more people could grasp this concept

Nobody is going to cry about stripping them, but by far the best covers you can get are from either Paul Champagne or the 928 Leather Shop. I would never put vinyl - save the extra money and do leather!
