Actually John most Aussies would hate to kill a dingo but foxes are an introduced species and considered vermin, so no one is too sad that there is one less. I am just upset he chose my car to move onto the next world with.

Pauly I may end up grabbing your turbo if mine is toast as it will probably be cheaper to get yours reconditioned. Will let you know when I know more.
cheers
Even if it was a dingo that ate your baby?

Sorry, seem to be having a hard time letting that one go! I LOVED the movie!

Crosover pipe cracked huh? WOW you must have creamed him!

Could a car run perfectly with a leak/crack in the cross over pipe ?

not a chance, you'll notice a noise (aka exhaust leak) and it's loud, and more lag.

yeah pre-fox the car was running sweet as, so I am thinking the fox must have hit exhaust to cause this crack and all problems since. It may help with insurance claim that this leak could not have gone unnoticed. I am probably clutching at straws but nothing about this adds up

IMO if you're going to pay someone to do the work (and you're good mated with the guy), make a clame. state that before you hit the fox the car was running 110% and after you hit the fox (everything that's damaged at the front of your car) oil leaks, exhaust leaks, damaged X-over which could have lead to destroying the turbo if it's destroyed, and everything else that can be replaced.

Yeah once we get to the bottom of what's wrong we may be able to link it to fox incident, then it will be up to the assessor to say yay or nay.

Well thanks to Pauly going above and beyond, and showing what a true champ he is, my car is lot closer to being back on the road

Not only did he hook me up with his old turbo, he even packed it up and sent it off to our local KKK turbo expert, who is balancing it and checking it is all kosher

My mechanic should see it tomorrow or next day. Then he is going to remove the old one and see what doing that reveals. The cooling system is now working as it should, so it will be interesting to see what removing the turbo reveals
I can't believe how much I miss not driving my car
peace

I'm hoping the compressor blade isn't runed, because if it is, that spells bad news for your cylinder walls. which again i hope it isn't

good luck, i hope it all goes well!
