Default strange idle and running issues

My fuel pump recently went out...so I replaced it and the filter, and resolved my no start issue. During the process though, suspecting the afm could be an issue, I unwisely tampered with it, adjusting the wiper arm, raising the height, and unfortunately changing the default idle angle. I now have everything set to what I can tell is normal. However, where idle is on the strip, is mostly worn down to silver. I have it south of the normal tracks, on the last bit of black available for idle.

Now, the issue is this. The engine turns, fires, but doesn't start with no gas given, or will, but will idle very erdadicly at 1 to 300 rpm then die. If I give it gas, I can get it above 1k, and all the way up, with it running "smooth" above 1k. Even driveable if you baby the gas and don't let it idle. However...it sounds like a go cart or a four wheeler, not a 944 with a flowmaster...not like it used to at all. I cannot get it to idle like it should! Idle trim and f/a trim have not been touched since it was fine. Any advice here guys? Sound like the afm for sure? Or perhaps something else? And how can I go about telling if its not running on all cylinders? Thanks in advance for any help..

It kind of sounds like you know at least part of the problem is the AFM? Or are you thinking it's "fixed"?

Are you sure you got all the vacuum hoses back on?

Try a known-good AFM.

I want to say its fixed but who knows. Trying to find a good afm still. Ohio doesn't have much it looks like. I'm just wondering if anything else could be causing this condition I suppose.
