I would expect that you will lose some gas mileage, the wheels you have are significantly heavier than the stock phone dials. Your engine has to work harder to get the car moving.

Continental Tires are some of the best out there, and these tires are their top of the line (virtually identical construction to those used on the Continental Challenge Series)... they are the one true Pilot Sport II clone you can buy for about 200 dollars less (when new) off the price of a Pilot Sport II.... and @ about an 85% discount off the new price, the tires in the link below are a pretty effin' good deal for any young car enthusiast where ****ty, wet and snowy roads aren't much of an issue.

Main reasons I haven't been searching used is possible age of used tires and difficulty in actually finding good deals in correct sizes.

Well. You asked for opinions and your getting them. Alittle rude to Odurandina. But honestly the 912 is not a good tire I've had many. All they are to me is a long lasting tire. Grip and cOntact in the rain in my opinion are not great at all.
But back to the sizes. Do you want to look super wide and don't care about power loss and mileage or do you want economy with the looks?

I would go for 225 in the front and 235 in the rear. The car doesnt have enough power to break the rears loose and it will almost be square with this setup.

Well. You asked for opinions and your getting them. Alittle rude to Odurandina. But honestly the 912 is not a good tire I've had many. All they are to me is a long lasting tire. Grip and cOntact in the rain in my opinion are not great at all.

Agree with you 912 are not really meant for a 944 & spirit driving (wall is to soft). If he want to go Falken the 452 is the one to buy,had them in 16" application on my 944 & now got them on my 968 in 17".Size front 225-45-17 ZR rear 255-40-ZR 17.Lol if they do the job on a 968 there shoudn't be any problem on a 944 NA.

i run 235/40 in the back its way to much tier but it looks awesome you'll be fine with that if your worried about traction, the tier is slightly stretched but nothing to be concerned about.

Tirerack seems to like the Kuhmo...
PRICE WISE - Falken/Hankook are equal, Kuhmo's will be +$30.

Not completely decided on sizes yet... Right now I think I want to play it safe and go one step down all around.
So 225/45/17 up front, 245/40/17 in the back.
Narrowed it down to 3 wheel options. (In order to what I'm leaning towards)
Out due to lower tread wear rating...2) Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 (LINK 1) (LINK 2) Total cost = $358
1) Kuhmo Ecsta 4X (LINK 1) (LINK 2) Total cost = $420
3) Falken Ziex ze912 (LINK 1) (LINK 2) Total cost = $422
Worth it to spend the extra $60 on Kuhmos, or go with Hankooks? They're quite a deal..... anybody think I should even consider falken??

i honestly dont prefer any of those tire brands even though i run falken 512s. a lot of people hate this tire and has had bad luck but i have these of my 951 fuchs and my twist. and i love them very grippy and i cant roast them from time to time and still have massive amounts of meat left and great in the rain =D which is IMHO one key in finding a good tire. but get this over with and buy some pilot sports haha
