bent tie rods. cause?
Hiall,
My car failed its 6 monthly road worthiness test this morning. They say my tie rods are bent and its showing signs of rubbing on my sway bar.
I upgraded from a 20mm bar to a 26.8mm front sway bar with triangulating brackets and new rubber, installed 2 yrs ago. I've passed 4 of these tests until now.
I haven't been under to have a look yet but they marked the area for me to see.
Any thoughts why its cropped up now? seems to be a common upgrade and haven't heard of anyone else having these issues.
TIA

Bent Tie rods are normally from hitting a bump too hard (especially a kerb).
I've also bent one on another car from a rather aggressive attack on the rumble strips at track days.

could be. We have to drive up a curb to park on the grass at my workplace. I take it slow obviously but makes me think I need to park down the road.

have a look, take some pics and post them up. may be impact damage. i've seen bent tie rods occur if a vehicle is improperly towed.
