Excuse my supplementary question..

As everyone knows, street tire in the 245/45/16s are becoming extinct. So the possible size is the 245/50/16. My question is that the tire is recommended for rims size up to 8.5inches, what are the dangers if any mounting them on 9" rims?

Always wondered this too. Tire comes off the rim (breaks the bead)?

I wouldn't advise it.

If its your only choice you should call a tire engineer of that company. They usually are very helpful.

Take care!

I'm in the same situtation. I contacted tirerack today. they told me that Bridgestone is going to make their RE-11 in that size (245/45/r16) sometime in the coming months.

Here is the text conversation. I wonder what is a couple of months? I've read an article last fall saying the release would be for early spring.

eric: Hi, I am looking for a tire size 245/45/16 rear
eric: can you suggest something
eric: occasionaly track my car (driver education, no race)
Nick: Hi Eric!
Nick: Let me see, but it's a hard to get tire size these days for street tires.
Nick: Bridgestone is going to make their RE-11 in that size sometime in the coming months.
Nick: We haven't posted them on the website yet, as we don't know how soon it will be. We're waiting to hear from them on the ETA
Nick: I can send you a link to the tire for more information, but it would definitely fit what you are looking for. You won't see that size listed yet, but they are priced at $224 each plus shipping and we are taking pre orders now if you have time to wait.
Nick: If you want to order a set please call me at 800-428-8355 EXT 246. We would take the credit card now, but nothing would be charged to it until the tires came in stock.
eric: thanks, I'll keep your info, I will call you back soon.
Nick: You're welcome!
