If you decide you want to keep the older triggering setup and use bigger injectors, maf etc, you may want to get ahold of Joshua at roguetuning.com he should be able to set you up with a custom tune that is able to use the later 8v na dme. You may want to consider swapping to the 951 flywheel and pp, since there are quite a few clutch options.

I'm not sure what a you are using but if you are using the stock 8v components, you may want to switch your fqs to position 7 so you pull a few degrees timing and add a little fuel.

I like seeing people go for it and just do things. I wish I had seen this thread earlier as I may have been able to make suggestions before the install.

I will say this though, the early cars use 12v for the afm and dme for the signal voltage. If you get a later dme you will need a later afm as well. I have ran an S afm with the late dme without trouble. As long as you have a wideband to monitor fuel that's what I'd do for the added airflow (the early na afm is very small).

Again I would get ahold of Joshua, he will have quite a bit of time after next week and should be able to set up a decent chip for you to either use stock (larger parts) or switch to a maf.

Looks like fun just take it easy until you get your igntion in order. I'd hate to see you hurt it right away.

BTW the old engine had the pistons in backwards. I don't know how they didn't contact immediately.

An update here. I've been able to check the car with a wideband, and it runs pretty rich. Now i mix around 80% Bioethanol (E85) with 20% of unleaded 98 octane, witch makes a much nicer AFR and the car even quicker. 0-62 mph now takes 5,8 in wet asfalt!! Did not check in the dry yet.

When i have time for it, i would order a 36-1 trigger and make a bracket for a hall og vr sensor for the front pulley, and use probably MS2 stand alone ECU.

Som pictures of the car.

Hi again missbelievers. The car is of course still running strong. Now on new Toyo R1R tires, sachs advantage dampers, ebc brake discs and yellowstuff pads. Some powerflex bushings have been mounted also.
