Default Odd rear brake wear and parts price rant

I'm replacing the rear pads on my 86 na and notice that on both sides the outer pad has at least double the wear of the inner. Do my calipers need rebuilding or is this perhaps an issue to be solved by bleeding the brakes? Also, damn the caliper hardware is pricey! 144$ from Porsche!! Best price I found was 85 shipped, anyone have a cheaper source? I really don't want to pay almost a hundred dollars for 4 metal pins and some lousy stinkin springs!

I've had uneven wear side-to-side on every car I ever owned. You could rotate the pads.
Can you get by without the hardware? You can buy loaded rebuilt units for $51 each.

hardware isnt the problem you need to disassemble the calipers and clean the slides up. $14 each for the rebuild kits while they are apart, get a wire wheel and clean up the hardware.
