Killed my 1st gear synchro?
Took my 924S to the track for the first time last weekend (Summit Point with Potomac PCA). Prior to last weekend, I could easily shift from 2nd to 1st with the car moving (e.g., in a parking lot). On Sunday, I went for a 2nd to 1st shift coming off the track and into the paddock, and it didn't want to go. I can't shift from 2nd to 1st now unless I'm at a standstill (or with a throttle blip).
On the track I did a lot of shifting between 3rd and 4th, and I know there were a few times where I didn't get my 4 to 3 shift right. Perhaps going for 3rd I messed up 1st???
Does it sound like a proper diagnosis? If so, what should I do?
Should I drain the tranny fluid for the purpose of looking for crunched metal bits?
If I did blow the 1st gear synchro, should I even worry about it?

Mine almost never goes into first with the car moving, unless I'm REALLY slow or mess around with it a while. I never worried about it. Doesn't matter to me because you can start a 944 from a stop even in 2nd

I've driven a ton of light commercial vehicles that just will not let you drop to first while moving.
You get used to it pretty quickly.
I'd suggest draining the transmission fluid and cleaning the magnet on the inside of the inspection plate however.

You might bleed your brake and clutch hydraulics. Heat or sloshing at the track could've introduced a bubble and you're not getting as much travel at the slave cylinder.

I think I also need to work on that 4th to 3rd motion

Don't know if you're interested but I believe Dougs951 has a Weltmeister short shift kit (transmission side) that is sitting on a shelf.
