What's the best way to check the wear on parking brake shoes on a late N/A?
How often (years/mileage/etc.) should the shoes be replaced? I know it's not a frequent thing and I don't really ever park on an inclined area.
Thanks.

Best way...
Remove wheel
Remove Caliper
Remove Rotor securing screw
Remove rotor
Interval
Whenever you want, or when your parking brake no longer holds or can be adjusted...

Worst way: reach 100 MPH, then pull the lever when you really need it.
In-between way: with a small flashlight, having removed the rear wheel, it may be possible to see the shoes through the inspection / adjustment hole (if the disc was put on in the right orientation).
