Anyone use ?

I hate jack stands! Apparently these ramps are made for low-profile cars. They are pretty expensive but I hate using jack stands that much. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these, or any similar product?

Ok why don't you pick up a pair of "RHINO RAMPS" good for up to 12,000 pds,and do like i did,frabricate two extensions with corrugated aluminum plates,had to do it to get my 968 on them since the front is real low.Price will be approx $80/90.oo including the extensions,if you wishe PM me on more details about the extension.In the meanwhile here is some pics.

Cool...yeah any info you can provide on how you did that would be great. Can you buy those plates in the size you need or do they need to be custom made? Do you have any problems with these ramps slipping when you drive onto them?

Don't have no problem with the ramps slipping since the extension are so thin 3/4" when the wheels get up on them there is already quiet a bit of weigth resting on them.The plates, any shop who handle aluminum can pre-cut them for you the rigth length & width.Once cut you just grind the edge to smooth them off since the "shear" will leave a little sharp edge. Soon as I can I'll measure the material needed & pm it to you.Btw material don't need to be cut from a new plates,most of them shop will have left over which migth be the rigth size to make you two plates.Lol when I work at our fab shop it was consider a sin to throw any aluminum/stainless steel left over in the garbage bine.

In the same boat you are in - I have such a narrow garage that jacking is a real pain. I did stumble on this.

I'd have to think of a way to remove the first section. Would be tough to scoot in from the side, where the Race Ramp lets you remove the first section.

I did find your Amazon link ramps at another site for $200.

Lol those wooden ramps are 6.5 ft long hence the one I have come up to 46" & can be hang easily anywhere in your garage.To___ divil___Material needed 2 corrugated aluminum plates 3/8" x 9 3/4" x 12 1/2" --- 2 aluminum plates (standard) 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 12 1/2" (those are reinforcement plates) that goes at the bottom.Will take close-up pics later on & send them so you'll have an idea how to assemble them.

My neighbor built some out of 2x12s. He uses them for his truck, but they are low enough profile for my 944! And very sturdy.

Ernie, I have the rhino ramps as well. Any thing you could post up on making them more user friendly would be appreciated.

^^ The plates dimension are already given, that is what you will need no more no less + bolts/lock washers & nuts (5) size will be up to you.Sending some close up pics,anybody with the minimum fab skill can easily assemble those extensions in about an hour without problems.As you will notice I grind cut the three bolts on the bottom plate & snip them so the are no chance of them coming off.The corrugated plate sit 2 1/2" on the ramp,the lower plate 3/4" on the ramp.Lol I hope I didn't loose anybody.

i have a 4x10 sheet that i got out of a restaurant i was working on a few years back. was planning on using some of it for ramps (thx for the reminder) but most of it will be used for a gokart floor.

i like the double plate idea

I think this will be economically perfect. The weight of the car on the plate will keep the damn thing from sliding forward (which it always does). I'm going to check Lowe's tomorrow for some of that plating.

This is catching on...I just got myself a set of Rhino ramps

Haven't had time to try them out yet but I was thinking of trying a few scraps of 1x6 or 2x6 in front of the ramps...it might increase the angle just enough. ernie9468 did you try anything like that before you used the plates?

No I went with the plates rigth away, I wanted something safe that wouldn't slip when the car will go up & down on those ramps.Not saying it's the perfect solution but work great for me ,like seen in the pics I didn't take no chance & when with reinforcement at the bottom.Be carefull using 1 x 6 or 2 x 6 in front of those ramps,don't really think it will increase the angle enough if your car is lowered.

ok I'll take care when I try that out. My car is a stock 951 S, not lowered below the factory height...not sure if that's lower than a standard 951 or not. I'll try this anyway just because I can find what I need easily. Either way it would be nice to have a permanent mod like yours. But then one poster on Pelican Parts seemed to be saying the 951 can clear these ramps anyway. I'll have to wait and see
