Default Do 16" 911 Fuchs Fit 86' 951's?

So got an awesome deal on some 16" 951 fuchs, but now the kid needs them back....

He had an 86 N/A with 911 fuchs on it, and an 86 951 with fuchs. Well obviously I wanted the 951 fuchs but when he went to bolt the 911's to the 951's the caliper hits. I was not aware that was going to be an issue seing as all 8 wheels were 16". Can someone just verify that for me.

991 and 951 fuchs don't have the same width... check this thing out:

Not sure the year of the 911 wheels. They are 16's with 911 part numbers, I assume they came stock on his 85.5 944 N/A.

Just pick up a 7mm spacer (Paragon has them) and the 911 fuchs will fit.

So he's going to need a 7mm spacer on each corner? Is he gonna need longer studs?

You will only need the spacer up front, the rears should fit without any problems. And the stock studs should be good with the 7mm spacer, but that is right at the limit, any wider and new studs would be needed.

Trade him! Assuming he has 7X16 and 8X16s in 911 offset they are worth more than the 951 fuchs.

He is saying that none of them fit, they hit the caliper at each corner.

Interesting, I have seen 911 Fuchs on the back of 951s without the use of spacers (both 8s and 9s fit back there) but perhaps there are differences in the Fuchs over the years? He could try 7mm spacers all around then.

Yeah, that is going to have to work for him. I feel bad, but the deal was done he was happy, I was happy, I can't lose money and waste a day going back there, not getting the rims I want, and not getting back all the money I am owed. I just don't like making people feel like they got screwed over by me, but it is really shame on him as he should have done his research.

I put 7mm spacers on my car and the studs came about 6mm shy of coming to the end of an open lug nut.

That said, I am sure there are plenty of people unknowingly running around with the same setup and closed alloy nuts.

951 Fuchs are built to allow for the larger calipers, they are unique to the 86T model. I have tried a couple of 911 Fuchs and they did not fit with or without spacers.

I think the 951 part# Fuchs are worth more, they were only made in one model/year and they fit the early 911 without any problem allowing them to fit bigger brakes.

Details:

911 7x16 offset 23.3, backspacing 112 part# 911.361.020.44 (early, 77-84) 911.362.115.00 (late, 85 on)

951 7x16 offset 23.3 backspacing 138 part# 951.362.115.00, add'l clearance for larger calipers

911 8x16 offset 10.6 backspacing 112 part# 911.361.020.45 and 911.362.117.XX

951 8x16 offset 23.3 backspacing 120 part# 951.362.117.00; offset compatible for front application also

A decent set of 7X16 and 8X16 911 offset fuchs will sell quickly for $1500. 951 fuchs take a while to sell and go for around 1K or less.

funny that I'm reading this thread. I love the look of fuchs on a 944. I've searched for 6 months before finding a set of 951 fuchs because a lot of rennlisters told me 911 ones (not rare) wouldn't fit. I paid total 1300$ with shipping. They came pretty crappy. Side walk rashes on all 4 of them. But they are straight (I hope). Here's the progress, I hopping to install them in 1 week, after 3 weeks of sanding, all I have left is the paint (will go for a rsr look).http://www.quennevilledesign.ca/photo.JPG
