The koni kit mouts in the same way other kits do. I've had a koni kit without torsion bars for thousands of miles.

Good to know. I always stayed away from the cup kits as they only had about 100# springs on them from the factory to work with tb's and I didn't like the rubber bushes that you couldn't swap out to spherical. So there is no problem with running 600# plus springs on the rubber bushes?

Sorry, I was mislead by the koni comment. We must be talking about different setups. The koni kit from paragon has spherical bushings.

Me too, I was thinking of the factory cup set-up. The "cup" part through me off and off-coarse the original cup kits were Bilstein coilovers not Koni sleeve-overs.

But yes, the koni kit works great with my 450# springs and new price vs new price it is not a lot more than uprated torsion bars.

thirdgenbird, I think the Paragon kit must be the same as the Ground Control kit. I have the GC with 450# Springs on my street car and they look the same to me and yes agreed they are a cost effective solution to tb delete. I'm running 200# fronts, curious what spring rates you have at the front?

350# up front.

This was based of paragon advice and TonyG's reccomendation of 350/500. I went conservative with 350/450 to account for the narrow rear tires on the 924. The car has a touch of understeer right now. I would say it is just enought to feel safe but long term I may stiffen the rear sway bar to see what change it makes.

That makes sense. I'm running staggered which doesn't help with the understeer but with the much larger rear springs it dials most of it out. I'm 188#F and 189#R effective but with the staggered tires I still feel mild understeer into a corner but better than stock.

To the OP, the Patagon or GC sleeve-over kits are a decent budget solution of you tb delete.

My GC rears:

Eric, I already have 250lb Eibac front lowering springs, they are not soft by any means. I too, don't understand the big fascination with coilovers for the rear, especially for a car that seldom would see a track, if at all. My car handles great on the track with the way it is currently set-up, I've been perfectly happy with it.

You can use VW torsion bars at $165 a set. 944 uses the 26 9/16 length ones.
It's not so much that the VW ones are less because they're listed for a VW - it's just a cheaper brand. The Swayaway bars cost the same for VW or Porsche (same part numbers).
