Default Headlight problem (x-post from turbo forum)

Hokay. so my right bulb is not working. I replaced it and it still ain't working. with help from a test light, I know it's not getting power, but the fuses themselves have power. Anyone know any usual places that the wire is flexed or pinched? I tested at the bulb connector itself, and at the other end of the short pigtail that taps the headlight itself to the rest of the harness, so it's definitely not that little pigtail.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Are you saying you have turned on the headlight switch and then tested for power at the fuses? Are you hearing the relays click? Can you flash your lights with the stalk?

I am not sure what you are telling us but my money's on the relay - they are common to many cars, VWs for sure and they are cheap. Used to carry a couple when I was buying VWs as you can get 'em from the wreckers for pennies. Oh, check your grounds - famous for poor connections.

headlights on, power at the fuses. high beams work fine. both of em. The issue isn't with the ground. the test light, we applied to a different ground, and put it on the connector. no power. period.

Now, in a turbo where are the relays for the headlights? because they sure as hell aren't in the fusebox with the rest of the relays. unless they're the complementary driving light.
