Default New to me 944 S2

I picked up a 1990 944 S2 today from a local PCA member and drove it home, the car has only 55K original miles on it and it is in pristine condition. I have no plans to mod the car, it's to nice to strip down. I wanted to get my 16 year old son into some track events and felt this would be a great car to start off with. He has a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer GT but I don't want him to drive it as a track car and trash the new car.

My first impression of the 944 was very positive, the car handled great for a 22 YO car, lots of power for a 4 banger. Now I just have to teach the lad to drive a standard.

Welcome to the club Russ! Who's car did you buy? Bob's blue? Let me know if you need help with anything on the car. I've got a spare set of 4 17X9 wheels that would be perfect for you

Thanks Justin, I did buy Bob's 944, it's in great condition for an older car. I'll see you at the PCA meeting tonight, we can talk about extra wheels.

Very nice Russ, welcome to the club! Even though I know its not true I'm going to tell myself you sold the GT3 to buy a 944.

Bob's car is amazing, I'm glad we'll still see it out at events.

Yes, the 994 is a much more superior car than those slow and heavy GT3's

I'm looking forward to getting the Autocross season underway, and I'm still working on a HPDE location for this year.

1stly, awesome on the s2

2nd, i work for mitsubishi, do not put a lancer gt on the track, it will break and mitsu will not cover it

944's are great cars to start with as most instructors i've ever met knows the limits of them and can teach a new driver how to get the most out of it.

i really like that color

Nice S2. I bought my in 2002 with 53K. It now has 63K. Not may miles in 10 years but I've enjoyed every one. The S2 is a great street car and can be transformed into an awsome track car. Good luck with it.

Please, oh please, don't hurt it. It's too beautiful to hurt it. I had an 85 1/2 N/A that was that color. I love that interior. I hope your son learns quickly how to appreciate a car of that quality and heritage.
