getting 944 painted
How much does it cost to have a quality paint job done? No crazy colors or anything intense just a nice solid blue like this one:
Also what are you guys views on getting the car painted a different color than the original? I know to some people this is a crime and others couldn't care less as long as it's done the right way lol... doesn't really matter I'm just curious to what everybody's thoughts are on the matter lol

For what? Race car, track car, beater Street car, or nice street car.
I figure it would take 5k to paint my Turbo properly. I painted my race car myself and for that I am happy with it, but doing that once tells me I would NEVER want to paint my street car myself.

Street car. Not a jaw dropping street car just something that doesn't look like somebody did a half a$$ job haha... I was kicking around doing it myself but idk if I'd have the patience to do a quality job comparable to a shop granted it'd be a lot cheaper though

painting a full car by me is around 6k...pearls are close to 10k.
color change: i'm not against it if it's done right(door jams, engine bay, other commonly overlooked spots). i also like trying to keep it within the same company. ie: porsche cobalt blue instead of the blue you have in the picture

Car right now is a faded cobalt blue (or at least something very close to that) and if I had it done I'd have everything done, nothing irks me more than opening a blue hood and seeing some other color engine compartment. But at that cost I may just leave it the color it is since I'm not looking to pay what the car is worth to have it painted lol

I'm in florida and I was quoted 3 grand to double prime, block sand, paint and put all the removed pieces back on. They were very detailed on the description of what they'd be removing and replacing after painting. I've seen their work and I sounds good to me. I don't need any body work, just paint/clearcoat. The current paint looks good from a distance but there's orange peel on the front left fender and some sanding marks from a previous attempt.

I paid $2500 for mine. Plus plus plus. Painters are rip off artists. Make used car salesmen look like priests. Get what you want done all in the clear ahead of time.
