my front brakes were virgin... just a matter of scuffing and alcohol and they were ready for paint.
cleaning, wirebrushing, and sanding my rear brakes was quite a pain in the ***.

painted mine red, just went to advanced auto and bought red caliper paint. took the calipers off my car, cleaned em and painted, 2yrs later they still look good...except the rear's which were replaced and the previous owner did a horrible job painting them

G2 caliper epoxy. Enough for all 4 in one kit. Easy, shiny, durable (so far), and harder than chinese arithmetic.
I used brake cleaner, then a few applications of paint stripper, then brake cleaner again, for prep.
Then a piece of 240 grit on a flat surface to sand the paint off the "PORSCHE" letters. A mill is cooler, but its like giving an elephant a tic-tac.
