Hi guys

Just chasing some info on seats for 944 Turbos. I've been offered what I believe are a set of 928 sport seats in red leather. These seats are quite rare so the offer is hard to pass up.

I understand the sport model are far more desirable than the regular seats as they have extra bolster support in the seat base and back. I know they're both electric. Can anyone tell me what their full adjustment range is? ie base tilt, seat back tilt. Do the lumbar supports squeeze in at all? I'm quite a slim build and would like to fit snug in the seat.

Owners running these seats, can you confirm how comfortable they are for a daily driver and the support they provide. How do they compare to Sparco, Bride and other non-fixed back race seats?

As far as I can tell the seat rails for all 944, 928 and maybe even 968 seats are all compatible and a direct bolt in?

i know that 944 and 968 seats are. couldn't say if the 928 is compatible though... i also would imagine they are a good bit heavier than comparable power sport seats from a 944/968... good luck!

personally, not a fan (of 928 seats).

all the 911 seats from the '90s are my favorite choices for our cars....


all the seats offered for the 964 and 993 are swappable with no mods.

The bolsters do not adjust (at least not on a 944 seat) I have no issues with comfort for longer drives and the support is great. Getting in and out of the car can be tricky but once you get use to the bolster you learn to move around it when getting in and out of the car.

Here are the seats I'm looking at (I'm pretty sure they're 928 sport seats). The red leather are the ones I would buy and reupholster in black, and the black ones are just another shot of hopefully what I'd end up with after:

those are 944/911 sport seats. 928 seats are different.

Yeah, the 928 seats are bulkier and sit a little taller than 944/911 seats, at least most of them I think.

My vote is for the black seats.

Ok good to know they're 944 Sport seats. I wasn't aware there was a difference but I'd prefer to sit lower and save some weight over 928 seats if possible. Most of the Porsche seats of that period seem to all use rails that bolt up to 944's anyway.

To clarify, the red ones are the for sale items I'm bidding on. The black ones aren't for sale, but just to provide an idea of what the red ones would look like once I'd reupholstered them in black leather/vinyl.

928 seats have the uber giant ribs....

extra comfort for all the middle-aged, fat guys that used to need the V8 flagship cars to haul their 220 lbs +++ of flesh.

Here is my $0.02 (US Dollars)

I have a 951 with factory sport seats and a 928 with the factory comfort seats.

The comfort of the sport seats is really going to depend on your size and shape. Go sit in them!!

I love the way the sport seats keep you planted in the car and even have a spare sport seat for my office chair......but.....I'm 6'2 and have that very pronounced athletic "V" shape to me. They are much a harder to get in and out of.


The 928 comfort seats are pure luxury. Almost insanely comfortable. Hard to imagine that a seat that looks nearly the same can feel so different. Super easy in and out, almost puts you to sleep they feel so nice.
