Right, should have given a better explanation. I'm referring to the mirror glass itself where the outer edge is concave and gives a wider angle covering the blind spot. I've found for Boxster and 911 here http://www.suncoastparts.com/product..._Code=POTEBXSS but nothing for 924S/944.

IIRC the flag mirrors on cars newer than either 88 or 89 until 91 had the convex passenger mirror (says "objects in mirror are closer than they appear" or whatever it is) Unless you have a 924S SE/M474 or a cup car, you should have the flag mirrors. IIRC All the street Porsches (with some rare exceptions) had flag mirrors at this time. In 1992 I believe for all models they switched to the aero mirrors.
So, I'm pretty sure the MY 89-91 mirrors had convex passenger mirrors. Perhaps MY 88 as well. As for where to get them, I would recommend calling the place with the best price and asking specifically if the passenger glass is convex.
I think they're convex also, concave you'd be seeing things upside down :P .
BTW where in CT are you?

I get what you're saying but I don't think we're talking about the same thing. Aspherical mirror glass is just like a standard mirror on the inner 3/4 of the glass. The outer 1/4 is wide angle to cover blind spot. If you look at the pictute in the link above you'll see a line separating the "normal" mirror glass from the wide angle portion.
I have them on my e93 and my wife's Saab. Once you get used to them it's hard to go without.
I'm in E. Granby.

I see what you're talking about now. Unfortunately I cannot help you in this quest, this is something I've never even seen before!
Since the flag mirror glass is a fairly basic shape, maybe there is one out there that is 'close' and might fit? Or could be trimmed at a glass shop to fit? Other than that I'm sure there is a 'glue on' version, but it sounds like you're looking for something with a smooth transition across the flat-aspheric line.

I purchased what I thought would be a "convex" side view mirror from Performance Products:
http://www.automotion.com/panomirror...1976-1991.html
This ended up being what I believe sf1 is looking for. The curvature is not constant, it increases from the edge close to the car to the far edge. I actually don't like it very much, and I'm probably going to replace it with one of the convex mirrors from Ebay. I guess I'm just used to the regular convex mirros and I find the distortion of the aspherical mirror to be too much.
If I can get my mirror off in one piece I'll be happy to send it to someone for $15 or so to cover shipping and handling.
