parts
WHat year 85 early or late indicates dash style - either way I haev a complete 85.5 cluster $35
and have an early clluster gauge with yellow letters .$20
Have a undamaged nice bumper shock $15
Have some carper pads; a later one foam rubber it was outside and is currently wet, pulled the carpet free and its okay a few tears as the carpet glue stayed attached better in some spots . $15 also have a 84 pad that is really only felt like material covered in the heavy tarpaper material - in good shape still in the car it does not cover the spare $15 also have a few of the side boards that are glued to carpet and cover the rear fender wells. those look easy to reproduce with plywood or MDF you could use them as a template there is a little warpage to them $8. I could just trace pattern for you on some paper. LMK , I could email you Pics All+ actual Fedex to your zip the carpet pads would be the most to ship. due to size. Ken autotech@nc.rr.com

strange that some did not have it.
for me, i like original unmodified cars. i have restored RX-7's for years, and have owned nearly 30 in the last 13 years. i am down to just two that i'm keeping and i'm actually replacing an engine in my 88 10th Anniversary RX-7 this week. i took the entire week off of work to work on the car and get it done.
i've decided that i plan to restore my 944 to original factory specs and i've accepted the fact that i will end up putting more money into the car than its worth and may ever be worth. for me though, its worth it because i love the car and its pushed me to sell off all of the Mazda's that i didn't want to keep.

heck, putting gas in my car is like putting more money into the car than its worth....
i owned an '87 Turbo II - i ran an entire SCCA Solo II season in it (1991) - one of the best times of my life. too bad no one told me that not driving it for a few months would seize the rotors...
good luck with the project - i'd always think a 944 is worth it.

the 944 is more than worth it to me. siting for a few months shouldn't cause carbon lock on any of the apex or side seals in a rotary engine. it usually takes years to do that. heck, my 88 10th Anniversary (its a turbo II) sits for an entire winter without a start up. i've put 950 miles on it in 6 years and the engine never froze up from carbon. bad oil control rings, yes.. i pulled the engine last night and am building a replacement which should be finished by the weekend.
