Default Flywheel Lock

Does anyone have a flywheel lock i can borrow for my upcoming Belt Job? I'll pay for shipping both ways and I am also willing to put a deposit on the lock until you get it back?

I'm located in Southeastern, PA.

Thanks,

Steve

It's recommended that you do your belts and after 1500 miles or so, recheck and re-tension, as needed. Might want to figure that into your plan.

I didnt think so, but i'm no expert on this timing belt stuff, and for some reason i'm really not excited about doing it. I've done many many timing belts on fwd VW's and Audi's but this one has me less then thrilled about starting it!

After doing the belt in a 1.8t passat, i must say the 944 is really a lot easier to do. No moving the front core support into maintanace position or anything and no taking the bumper off either :P
Its not that bad.

Hi,

the first video shows the job without a special tool, just using a 6mm Allen key. Actually, if you only change the belts, you won't need any lock. The lock is only needed for opening the central bolt.

The second video shows how to make the flywheel lock yourself.

Best regards,

Jürgen
