Default low mile 944 worth almost 20k?!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mint-...item35b9822b3d

Been watching this since it was mentioned on another board. After it passed ten grand (which I didn't think would happen), I was blown away.

Seriously?! Someone bid 20k?! Slick shoes are you crazy?!

well if it sells for a lot than you'll start seeing values on all 944's going up...though they have been the past few years

+1. There's not many pristine ones left.

Sure I think it is. There are fewer really nice and unmolested ones around.

I have had a true $16,000 plus offer on my 951 but it was not really for sale. It has 91,000 miles and is in very close to that condition, and in some ways a little better really as every rubber part, hose, etc, as well as other parts are all new in 2010 or 2011 with new Porsche factory parts on my 1986 951. It has about 1000 miles on virtually all new mechanicals. I would take $20,000 for it if I was locked on to purchasing a top 930 or even a PearlEssence 1994 Turbo Carrera .

When these cars are good they do get some respect as evidenced by mine winning two car shows in 2011. My 951 needs a few little items that I am working on now to be cosmetically darn near close to better than new. As the guys at the shop say " Porsche called and wants that car BACK !"

Engine in my 86 with almost all new hoses, rubbers, seals, gaskets etc

Even has the "orignal" dash with no cracks .

Not bragging on my car here in any way, but as most of us 944 guys know it is good when you see a nice one out there. Heck I hope the one for sale goes for even more if its mileage is original and proveable, as it may very well be one of the last with less than 25,000 miles.

But there is always some work left to do on these cars including that one too.

The reservoir is as yellow as a dandelion on the auction car, serious oversight on a "restored, concourse" car. Overall excellent condition but I don't think I'd trust it without new belts.

I never noticed the "cupholders" on the glove box door, what a useless touch!

I wouldn't say that. A medium Dunkin cup fits perfectly, I use it every day and never a spill. IMO better than all the aftermarket cup holders out there.

I dont think it is restored is it ? Arent they claiming it is "original." But agreed that there are things the new owner will need to do. Like get some Fuchs for that car .

My guess is it will still need a bunch of rubber parts. Not to mention that it is probably way overdue for a waterpump and timing belt. And probably a head gasket --- while you are in there as we all say.

Hey at least we will all know who the new owner is when he logs in and asks " Do I need ....x... for my 16,000 mile 944? " LOL

It wont likely happen. I bet the owner knows what he is getting in to .

I always thought that was for your adult beverage too. But now that I know that a short Dunkin fit there I am on the way.

Once we were boiling along a few MPH over the old 55 mph speed limit . We were all dressed up on our way to something. My wife was handing me and a lady in the back both a champagne glass in the car when a Houston police officer cruised right up next to us. Ooopps ....... The girls smiled and waved. He smiled back, and then did the five-five to me with his hand, then he gave me a thumbs up and cruised away. Ahhhhhh .... that was the good old days .
