For those with more $$ than brains....
The Amelia Island auction is coming up 9 March.
Here's the link to the autoblog post so you can look at the truly rare cars....
But for the "More $$ than Brains" crowd, dig the "anticipated" prices for the 944/968 series cars.....
1992 Porsche 968 Turbo RS
Chassis WPOZZZ96ZNS820065
Estimate: $250,000 - $325,000, Without Reserve
Factory prototype with Le Mans and Sebring race history
1986 Porsche 944 Turbo Cup
Chassis WP0ZZZ95ZGN154076
Estimate: $65,000 - $85,000, Without Reserve
1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S
Chassis WP0AA2957JN151272
Estimate: $50,000 - $65,000, Without Reserve
1994 Porsche 968 Turbo S Clone
Chassis WP0AA2961RS820772
Estimate: $45,000 - $55,000, Without Reserve
1991 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet
Chassis WP0CB2949MN440106
Estimate: $25,000 - $30,000, Without Reserve
Sorry, there's no 952 that's worth $50k - $65k and I'll bet that 968 Turbo RS doesn't come anywhere close to $250k (unless someone's REALLY stupid)
Now I know I will probably get flamed on this as many here seem to think there 951/951/968's are somehow special but the reality is they're not. I've had a 968 and I currently own a 86 951 and I love(d) both cars. But neither was/is special in the bigger world of collectable cars. Hell even the 968 Turbo's (S & RS) no matter how rare they are, don't even get a glance from the vast majority of Porsche guys. Yeah we appreciate them... That's cool but $250k? That's just someone not knowing how the car fits into the bigger scheme of collectable Porsches.
OK, flame away.....

I find that most of the 944 crowd is well aware of what their cars are and aren't capable of.
Considering the vast number of decent cars going on sale here for chump change you're preaching to the choir. But it's their cars, why are you so upset? Who knows maybe some rich guy will make an impulse buy, that's probably what they're banking on.

nifty feats of engineering that they are, telling the truth can get you killed here brother.... but thank Christ, in the afterworld, we have the conversion specialists who've been proving the 944 and 968 tubs to be some of the best kit car cores — ever.

Jason of Paragon Products own 968 Turbo RS #4 of 4. He bought it 8 to 10 years ago. I remember seeing the adds for it and it believe it may have been in 60k range back then. Not cheap then, but good for a special car.
Now cars #1 , 2 and 3 we all had some info on and these were hacked up to some degree. Most around 10 years ago felt that #4 was the most original of the bunch. I believe #1 (the red car) was the most hacked up car of group. The only way Turbo RS could bring those numbers is perfect restoration and originality Given the what I happened to these cars I doub't the original motor is in the car.
As for the 88 Turbo S for 50k.... Hmm maybe mine is worth half that..

Three Wheelin'
with anything collectable it's all about the provenance. That's why they might get the prices they project. I think this has a good a provenance as you could get for one of our cars
1980 Porsche 924 Carrera GT Le Mans
Chassis 924-003
Estimate: $450,000 - $600,000, Without Reserve
One of three Works entries at the 1980 24 Hours of Le Mans; placed 13th Overall with Bell and Holbert
This isn't some car a kid in college drove into the ground If I was Bill Gates type rich these are the sort of cars I would collect. I'd love a 935. It's the Porsche that made me fall in love with Porsche, but I don't have a lazy million or 2 to fulfil my dreams lol Good luck to those with the means to do it
peace

If I was not trying to get a couple of other things done right now, and the fact that I want a 930 to go with my 951, I would be interested in the Turbo Cup depending on hacked it up it is. At least for some portion of its expected range.

I will be attending the auction with a friend who plans to bid for an European buyer. I will not flame you but these are some very rare and special cars. If you cannot stand the heat stay out of the kitchen!!!!!!!!
