My father bought his 944 in '87 brand new and I rode home from the hospital in it the day I was born. I've grown up with the car ever since, and loved it. 70,000 original miles, interior is in extremely good condition.

And that's why my project car is a 951.

That picture reminds me of my childhood in the 1980s when I'd sneak out to the garage to play around in my dads 64' E-Type, which we went on to restore in 2007. My fondest childhood memories revolve around cars, car shows, and other similar events with my dad. I can't think of a better upbringing, and I won't have it any other way when I have kids.

Scott 951-Wow, that RUF 930 you're chasing down in that first picture is beautiful!
teamking-I'm liking those red rimmed Fuchs, nice touch!

I'm only 21 so I don't have kids yet, but someday I want my kids to have the same love for cars as I do. My 944 is in rough shape as of right now, but I hope to have that thing still sitting in the garage so they can help me wrench on it and enjoy it as much as I have. Looks like yall all have had some good times though, keep it up.

Oh yeah, my 2 year old son is absolutely nuts about my "Porsh! Porsh!" He knows the sound of it, asks about it every time I come home, and will not stop touching it when we go through the garage outside. And if I open the door, ZOMG THE JOY!!! Stupified gaping grin and giggles as he gets behind the wheel and cranks it side to side going "VMMMM! VMMMM!". It is awesome.

He also just learned "Ahdi" and knows mama drives a "Jiep! Jiep!"

this is a good day sir! i'm still skeptical that my son will break my turn signal and wiper stalks..i have to keep an eye on him because he gets so excited, lol. other than that, you son does exactly what my son still does. i probably would still do the same thing..and inside i get excited when i see my 944.. the only difference is that i'm an adult and i should attempt self control, lol. but that doesn't mean i don't check on my car before i go to bed or lift the cover and open the door just to smell the interior.. its in my attached garage, so i visit the 944 often.. i keep it there for that reason, lol.

I just remember riding in my dad's 944S back in the day. Good times. I just wish he was car smart

Exactly! Same here. Though I can't say I act any differently after several beers in my garage...
