I've been stopped twice in the last two weeks for no front plate. (same officer) two different cars. Once in my CTT and once in my 928S4. (think next Sunday I will take my 951 and see if he will stop me againhilarious)

Anyone installed one of these motorized from plates on their 951? Pics of the install?

I am not sure what the motorized accomplishes. But if it works good let me know.

I too was stopped on the way to a track day last month for no front license plate on my 951 - the officer said "Its a law here in Texas." Yeah ok. Got a warning.

On my car not only does it look bad but it drops the air entering the nose. Man it is HOT in there already. I need all the cooling it can get.

I think the plate would get scraped up and probably broken off on a speedbump or one of the whoops on the highways around here. I gave up and put front plates on my cars years ago after too much hassle and a few parking tickets.

I categorically refuse to run a front plate on our Porsches. Primarily due to aesthetics but also due to the already mentioned cooling benefits. Granted, spirited street driving and autocross don't tax the engine like track days but any/all cooling is a bonus.

The only place I've been pulled over for lack of a front plate is Northern Virginia. Never had an issue when I lived in Oregon, Tennessee, Texas or Maryland.

You shouldn't have an issue with a front plate blocking cooling air on the street. I remove mine for the track. I'm not a fan of the way they look, but I'm much less of a fan of $75 tickets.

I run on the track with a hard, lexan bra (circa the 80's) to avoid (more) rock chips and broken lenses....have done this in 95+ degrees and the car always runs cool.

Plate is underneath the lexan....so I am always worried about 'obstructed view' tickets...the lexan is smoked.

I want to leave a clean factory look and unrestricted air flow. Not screwing it all up with an ugly state of Colorado taxation tag.

when the number plate is down, it'll be flapping around and you still can see it so it's pointless, and it'll probably look stupid also.

It's a solid mechanical device. I've seen them in person. Just hoping somebody had pictures of how they mounted to a 951.

I hate front plates. I only run them on my car if there is a spot for it. On my 951, there is no spot.

Most states have vanity plates, but very few have a euro style available.

A friend of mine has a motorcycle plate on the front of his car, apparently you can buy them online all day. He bought his from eBay, when he found one he liked he checked availability of the number online with DMV then registered it for his car. He has a regular full size rear plate and the smaller m/c plate at the front.
