I think you might end up in more trouble with a MC plate on the front rather than the correct one. No plate is less likely to get attention than some sort of 'fake' plate
I still say that the hideaway plate would get wrecked if you drove with it in the down position, and given how much scraping the splitters and batwings get I think the mechanism might get beat up even if the plate was up when you hit some dips. I am also not sure what it is for. Posing? Do you drive with the plate up to avoid getting pulled over, and park with it up in public, but put it down for car shows and hard parking?

I was hoping it might fit just below the center support so that it would flip into the stock location.
Would probably just have it down 99% of the time. Only putting it up when parking on a Denver city street or when approaching a cop running traffic.

I think if a cop was looking at your car through a LIDAR gun scope and saw you flip the plate up, you'd have some 'splainin' to do. That is assuming the gadget hadn't been torn off already.

So what I gather from this is that no one here has actually mounted one and would rather just talk about the legalities of a front plate. (when I'm sure all of you only due those performance mods for track use only and have never sped)

I still don't get the point of it, just put a numberplate on the car, and leave it as that.
Lets say if you do get pulled over, it's not like the cop won't notice the numberplate in the wrong spot, and will notice it's on electric motors to raise and lower it, And you'll probably get in trouble for that too. And I'm sure he/she isn't that stupid to know you'll just lower it when they drive off anyway.
I don't even like the look of my slim numberplates at the front, i'd rather have none also. but the law is the law.
I'm not flaming you, just i see it as a waste of time and effort to not show them rather then show them and not get in trouble.

I attend a "cars and coffee" or other Porsche event nearly every weekend.
I think this looks nice.
....and with the plate on it it looks like ***!
My idea was to mount it below the normal spot. So that it would be in the normal spot when out and then tucked away for a clean looking car when not in used. I would not be near the ground, it would not flap around, it would be more legal than without it, etc etc

Our plates are not that slim. They still look like *** because they overlap both openings on each side of the front piece.
My car also did not come with a mount. So I figured if I have to buy a mount, I may as well buy a flip down one.

I know Cole has seen my manual flip plate. For the record they are great for parking. As I only flip it up to park downtown it would not help during a pullover as it is either up or down before the fact.
As far as the legality the power plate would not be legal in Colorado by inference of the statute. I doubt any officer would write it, but...
The clear answer is to stop looking like a drug dealer when driving for coffee on Sunday mornings. Anyone who knows Cole knows that this recurring pullover phenomenon is pretty funny. I think it is Foster. He looks a little stoned when wagging his tail with his tongue hanging out. That officer is obviously trying to fill his log sheet with officer initiated contacts. He was probably criticized for not doing that on his last review.
