how many miles do you guys go before changing them ? the reason i ask is i changed them approx 10,000 miles ago. car is running ok I just like optimum performance ...expense not much of an issue.

you can go about 35-40 k miles on a cap. i change the rotor when i do my fuel filter; at about 20 k miles.

bosch rotors are cheap enough, and it would be a hassle having one break and tear through a cap on a long trip.

it's on hold for a couple more months.... the engine, serpentine, accessories, cam kit and install, wiring harness, bell housing, clutch assembly, and rebuilt 944 TT alone are topping $13 k. on the positive side of things, the engine is effectivly sold, i have about 1/2 of the cash i need to finish put away, and i have most of the swap parts and the transmission is also done... on the negative side, 1. november turned out to be total crapola on the work front. a job i was going to do was postponed 30 more days (on top of what's been a fairly lousy year. 2. had to pay some taxes this month (or else). 3. had to buy a new furnace. 4. now i need the car in Florida for 6-14 weeks (at least i get to enjoy the car for the races). 5. i need to go Mazatlan, Mex and pick up my truck... i also may be going to Everett, Washington where i will need a 4X4 to get to work.... sometime after that, i should finally have the cash to drop off the car and get the process started.
